This Privacy Policy describes how Konstantin Zarubin ("we", "I") handles information in the Price Identifier iOS app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
The App uses your device camera so you can photograph an item and get an estimated price for it. The camera is only active while you are on the scanning screen, and only when you take a photo.
Photos are used solely to recognize the item and estimate its price. When you take a photo, it is sent over an encrypted connection to the Google Gemini API, which analyzes the image and returns a description of the item. That description is then used to produce a price estimate. The photo is not stored on our servers after the estimate is returned. Your scan history, if any, is kept locally on your device.
Google processes images submitted through the paid Gemini API only to fulfil the request, and does not use them to train or improve its models. See Google's terms at https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms and Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not use photos for facial recognition, do not share them with advertisers, and do not sell them.
You can deny camera access in iOS Settings. Scanning will stop working, but the rest of the App remains available.
We do not require registration and do not ask for your name, phone number or address.
To identify items and estimate prices, keep the App working, fix crashes, understand how features are used, manage subscriptions, show advertising, and reply to support requests.
The App uses the following services, each with its own privacy policy:
